I dedicate this book first to the memory of my parents,
GIUSEPPE DI SABATINO, 1896-1982
SOFIA DI SABATINO, 1902-1993
who gave me a cherished legacy: to believe that character and integrity
are more valuable than wealth and that what we possess is less
important than what kind of people we are.
I also dedicate this book to the memory of my wife who helped
shape my life by living an exemplary godly life.
MARIA PIA DI SABATINO, 1940-2015
I further dedicate this book to my two sons, Daniel and Sandro and
their respective wives, Kelly and Rebecca, my six grand-children and
to my three great-grand-children who bring me more joy than I ever imagined.
I truly hope I will leave them a legacy that will help them be all
God created them to be.
MOSES DI SABATINO emigrated from Italy to Canada in 1959 in the middle of a cold Canadian winter. The driving wind, mountains of snow and icy streets could not dampen the enthusiasm of this 19 year old with a vision for a new home, making new friends and seizing new opportunities in life. Moses began his career in the life insurance business in 1966, at a time when the Canadian economy was faced with high unemployment and inflation. He built a sizeable multi-service insurance brokerage, Di Sabatino and Associates Insurance and Investments Inc., with a reputation for trustworthy advice and ethical business practices. Moses has always been committed to serving his local community, sponsoring local soccer clubs, chairperson of insurance committees, fundraising for service clubs and non-profits, but by far his favourite contribution was to serve as a Board member and Elder of his local church. He continues to support global workers and community development projects in various countries of the world.
