God has called us to be disciples, meaning to follow Him. To follow Jesus means following His truth, way, and will. It means walking the path of the eternal Kingdom. There is only one way to be discipled and to disciple others, and that is the way of Jesus. His way was made known to us when He walked the earth and is still shared through the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit. The church has been called to make disciples, not congregants. Only when we are truly discipled the way Jesus intended can we fulfil the Great Commission. The commission of Matthew 28 is not just for the spiritual leaders, but for every disciple.
