The beautiful story of the woman with the alabaster box, found in the New Testament book of Luke, had a major impact on me. I once considered myself even lower than this woman, who had committed many sins... but whose desire to honor JESUS, in her own humble way, drove her to disregard not just the social protocol of the day but others\' opinion of her. She honored JESUS by anointing His feet with expensive perfume contained in an alabaster box. We all have an alabaster box that we can present to the LORD ... our submitted selves, forged in praise and worship and, being assured of His forgiveness, completed in obedience. But I went through so much, and felt so debased, that I considered my box to be broken, its contents spilled and irretrievable. This book is from the heart of a woman who has been broken, abused, molested, raped, kidnapped, betrayed, neglected.... a woman who has committed many carnal sins ... but who still has enough bandwidth to believe GOD for the impossible.
