Hope Harbor isn't what they expected, but it might be exactly what they need.

When sisters Lily and Rachel Strickland are uprooted from their grandparents' home in Louisiana and dropped into the polished world of Hope Harbor, Illinois, nothing feels familiar.

Lily aches for the life she left behind and dreads starting high school where she knows no one. She feels lucky to befriend two girls, until one's tough attitude makes real friendship seem impossible. But when a child's safety is suddenly at risk, Lily learns that not everything, or everyone, is what they appear to be.

Rachel adjusts quickly, joining the school's Christian club and catching the eye of a kind, faith-filled boy. But her fresh start is shaken when she learns her boyfriend back in Louisiana has gone missing shortly after she ended things. The guilt she feels threatens to pull her under.
