Deep within the caves of Under-Earth lives a people, cut off from Over-Earth: the Faithful of Ro`eh.

Akni is trying to earn his place as a full-fledged adult. However, in a fight with an enormous unknown beast, he loses the diamond he needs to do so.

He goes to extreme lengths to succeed anyway.

Meanwhile, the community is desperately trying to cope with the threat of the mornaghs.

As the situation becomes increasingly dangerous, Akni realises that not only he, but the entire community is searching for its identity.
