While trying to fix their marriage, private investigator Ming Wei and his real estate agent wife, Sabine, investigate the unsolved murder of Sabine's father.

Four years after their wedding, cracks appear in their marriage. Ming leaves for a multi-month project overseas, leaving his wife at home with two young kids and a business to run. To take her mind off their marital woes, Sabine helps her mother investigate her father's murder.
