The Fetzer Institute has sponsored a multi-year project, gathering teams of scholars and spiritual leaders from all the major world religious traditions—each team assigned the task of composing a fictional “story” that conveys the essential message of their tradition. This includes interspiritual and scientific traditions, along with Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam etc. Then they were charged together to devise a “common” sacred story. This will be a major project aiming at facilitating a new language and approach to inter-faith dialogue, and thus for fostering world peace and understanding.
