The Bible was written over 2000 years ago. Over the centuries, we have come to grow extremely fond of the biblical characters we have been introduced to by some of the greatest scribes in history. Within the biblical stories of these men, we are afforded a front row seat to peer into their lives: good, bad, ugly, or indifferent. We are able to learn from their lessons, discern through their difficulties, and wield from the wisdom shared not only at the hands of the writers, but also through the breath and voice of the Spirit of the Living God. These life stories that we were graced by the Lord to experience were breathed on and inspired by the very life-giving Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKodesh. Each and every man mentioned in the Bible is of great significance, even if only his name is written.

God speaks nothing haphazardly. Every word, and yes, every name spoken, reflects and reveals something of great importance to our heavenly Father. As you journey through this devotional, Sons of Purpose, a View of Biblical Heroes through the Eyes of 21st Century Men, Volume 2 utilize your heavenly imagination and travel back through biblical times to get to know these amazing men of the Bible. Read, study, and meditate upon their lives so you are able to understand their significance of being included, and how their lives tie into the birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Also, witness how ordinary, yet profound, men of the 21st Century parallel their lives to their biblical heroes.

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Revelation 12:11
