Running With God

This book is a series of "snapshots" I wrote to help me better understand my journey to find and run with God. I hope it will help you better understand your journey.

Every once in a while it seems God gives me a sharp nudge in the ribs with His elbow and says something like, "Did you see that? That is just a small part of who I am." Some of these "elbow nudges from God" come from various books I read. Others come in the middle of the night when I can't sleep and still others catch me unawares when I least expect them. None of them are spiritually or theologically profound. That's because my father always told me, religion and faith should be kept simple enough for a child to understand. Now let me share with you an unexpected discovery. When I had written down a number of these "elbow nudges" I looked at them for the first time as a group and not just as individual thoughts. It was then I discovered a common theme running through them. God seems to be saying, "Trust Me, grab hold of My hand and run with Me. And don't forget to laugh while we do it." In Running With God, author John Chilson shares faith lessons that he has learned on his personal walk-no, "RUN"- with God. John's natural talents as a story teller are evident as he is able to express sometimes complex faith issues in simple terms that any reader can grasp. While the book is obviously directed toward the believer, the non-Christian would find this book worthwhile because it is stripped bare of the off-putting theology, doctrine, or religiosity found in many Christian books. John Chilson allows the non-Christian reader to see the Christian faith in a new light which just may bring some to faith. I liked Running With God enough that I will be giving it to many of my friends and family.
