Inside the covers of this book, you will meet a black female who grew up during segregation in the 1950's and 60's in the South. And, because of her color, her race, and her personality, discussions about and sightings of the Ku Klux Klan intimidated her. Some, with nothing more substantive to do, poked fun at her to test her mettle. One could say that she was ignored by the "king makers" in high school, but Jesus sent someone to speak light into her life. Life during high school years was scary and lonely, but Jesus scattered the darkness around her, and the introverted servant found a small measure of success. Her parents who wanted their daughter to become both a high school and college graduate succeeded against the odds in reaching that end. Then unbelievably, approximately twenty years after high school and approximately fifteen years after college graduation when Jim Crow and racial discrimination had been outlawed, she attended law school and became a law school graduate.
