Breaking generational curses is trending among some Christians all over the world, evidenced by the many books published on the subject. I state upfront that this work is not intended to debunk the claims for the existence of generational curses. But some of the authors and gurus who specialize in delivering individuals, families, communities and nations from curses seem to skip the generational blessings that speak louder in the same passage of Scripture they cite to justify the existence of generational curses. Could some of them be hiding the blessings that come from loving God so that their clients who are driven by fear may continue to patronize them? While one may not deny the existence of generational curses, what is worrisome is the undue emphasis and the motives behind it.
