This is the story of an Australian pastoralist who encountered a bush fire on his property, then went, with others, to extinguish the fire but received horrific burns to large amounts of his body - torso, face, arms, and back. The story outline the steps over many, many months to treat the burns and recover. He still has the marks of the burns on various parts of his body. The book recalls the courage and lengthy process leading to recovery. The man is now in his 90's.
