Over six thousand languages are spoken in the world, all of them differing from one another in matters of lexical items, grammar, idioms, and figures of speech. Furthermore, the historical and cultural settings for the speakers of one language differ considerably from those for speakers of another language. It is not surprising that many problems are encountered in translating a message from one language to another.
