This text covers the first nine chapters of the book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs is the best source for wisdom and understanding that one can find in this life. If a person wants to learn about the Lord and learn how to please Him with his or her life, then the book of Proverbs is a perfect place to begin. Because the book has exactly thirty-one chapters, a person can read one chapter per day based upon the numerical date of the month and then read the whole book in one month. On the first day of the month, read chapter one. On the second day of the month, read chapter two. Then, continue like that for the rest of the month. One of the easiest ways to gain godly wisdom and understanding is to read one chapter per day and then read the entire book twelve times per year. Its teachings are timeless. They were true when Solomon had written them. They are still true and will still work today.

Part of this book has been adapted from an earlier daily devotion book that I wrote on the book of Proverbs. However, it is much more detailed than that earlier account to help one understand how the original language was translated into the current English versions of today and the past. It discusses the Hebrew verb stems for many of the verbs, and it shows how many of the original Hebrew words had been rendered into their corresponding English words. For that reason, this text in contrast to the original devotion book is much more technical and very much original language specific. Because of its detail and its length, it has been divided into eight parts with this text being the first part. As always, the intent of this book as well as with all of the others that I have written is to bring individuals closer to the Lord and to also give them a much more thorough understanding of the precious truths of the scriptures. It is hoped that each reader will enjoy this text as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
