In this second volume, Gary N. Knoppers concludes his detailed study of the Deuteronomistic history by focusing on the reign of Jeroboam, the collapse of the Northern Kingdom, and the unfolding historical consequences. Building on the foundation of the first volume, this work offers a rigorous investigation of the biblical texts and the political realities faced by the Israelites. It is an indispensable resource for those specialising in biblical history, offering clear academic insights into the fall of Israel and the subsequent legacy left for the Southern Kingdom. Knoppers provides a thorough, scholarly approach that will help you better understand the theological and historical framework of the Old Testament period.
