As a mum and an avid reader, there are few things I enjoy more than curling up with my kids to read a book. Often, though, I am spoiled by choice. Especially when facing the vast array of Bible stories.

Let’s start with collections, simple books packed full of Bible stories for children:
Get snuggled up with 365 Read-Aloud Bedtime Bible Stories with a story for every night of the year, this gently illustrated collection includes popular Bible stories such as Noah’s Ark. But also, lesser-known stories, such as the Birth of John the Baptist and many more. Each simple story ends with questions to aid discussion and further understanding.
Or, introduce tiny ones to popular stories with My Very First Bible Stories. This little book has eye-catching pictures and bold text - ideal for even the littlest ones.
Want to concentrate on the life and times of Jesus? The Story of Jesus is a comprehensive introduction to his birth, life and ministry. This sweet book includes stunning illustrations and a scan-to-listen audiobook, for enjoyment on the go!
Steph William’s cartoon-style 'Little Me, Big God’ series includes an 8-part collection of stories about Jesus. It includes the Lord’s Prayer, Feeding the 5,000 and the first Easter.
Finally, Storybook Bibles share God’s word in a fun & colourful way. They Feature child-friendly Bible stories with bright pictures and extra content to help understanding. From the much-loved Usborne Children’s Bible to the stunning Jesus Storybook Bible and the thrilling Action Bible, there is a storybook Bible for every age and stage.
Collections are well and good as a go-to for a range of stories, but what if you want to focus on just one story? Katherine Sully’s enduring series of ‘My First Bible Stories’ is loved by thousands. With Jonah and the Big Fish (a firm favourite with my four-year-old), Daniel and the Lions, David and Goliath, Moses, Joseph and The Easter Story, these Bible stories are sure to be enjoyed again and again.
Tim Thornborough's 'Very Best Bible Stories' bring fun and faithfulness to lesser-known tales, such as Deborah. As well as family favourites: Esther, Moses, Noah, Jonah and The Creation Story. Vibrant illustrations with bold print help children discover these Bible stories in a fun and memorable way.
Fans of the ever-popular Jesus Storybook Bible will love the stand-alone books. ‘Loved’ explores the lyrical beauty of Psalm 139 whilst ‘Found’ reminds children of God’s love with an elegant retelling of Psalm 23.
