Rock of Ages CD Review

As a child of the 70s, Martin grew up on rock music that placed the electric guitars front and centre. That early influence is evident both on his 2006 instrumental album State of the Union and here on his debut worship project.

The title track is based on the 1775 hymn of the same name while “Justified” also stands out for its high energy. “My God Reigns” and “Hallelujah” may be familiar to listeners who have already heard Martin’s songs on samplers and live records, but its great to have these tracks re-recorded especially for the album.

Those disappointed by the recent influx of EDM into both the mainstream and Christian world will find deep refreshment in this project. Turn it up to 11 and enjoy.
