The Dunbridge Chronicles is a trilogy of books following the career of a newly-ordained curate, Neil Fisher, in his first curacy in a small market town in Bedfordshire. In this, the second of the trilogy, we see Neil flung right in at the deep end when his Rector suffers a crisis of ministry, leaving him to grow rapidly into his role as pastor. And whilst Dunbridge is not a deprived, inner-city parish it’s not without its challenges and traumas. He also has to deal with his feelings about three women who love him (one his mother) alongside the day-to-day challenges of parish ministry. All the characters from book one are here, plus a few new ones, as we see Neil beginning to grow in confidence, despite his own insecurities. All human life and emotion is here: death, sickness, sadness, despair, alongside joy, happiness and excitement. This book will have you crying one minute and laughing the next. One you could easily give to non-Christians.
