You may have noticed that the Good News Bible looks a little different. That’s because our range of Good News Bibles has had a bit of a revamp. Coming from the passionate folks at the Bible Society who have been in the business of Bibles for over 200 years, these new Good News Bibles are as vibrant as ever. And their message shines just as bright as it did over half a century ago.
Well, for starters, the look. The new editions have a bold design that carries across the whole range. From the amber shades of the Sunrise Bible to the colourful splatterings of the Rainbow Bible, the Good News covers have been updated to reflect the simple message of the Bible - that there is good news for all of humanity.
But the changes don’t end with the covers. The extra features of the Good News Bibles have been specially tailored towards new readers of the Bible. With brand new book introductions, overviews and a guide to where to find help in the Bible, there is no shortage of ways these new Bibles guide readers to the message they need to hear.
There are also word lists, new maps, and suggested ways to begin reading the Bible.
What’s still there?
There is one aspect of the Good News Bibles, above all else, that people most remember. The ever-iconic line drawings of Annie Vallotton. Those simple depictions of the memorable stories found in God’s word bring to life the words of the text. They are simple, expressive, and have lasted in the minds of believers for a lifetime.
Annie Vallotton’s illustrations can be found in the Sunrise, Rainbow, Catholic, Gospel Large Print, Pew, and Compact editions of the Good News Bibles.
New to the series are dyslexia friendly editions of the books of John, Psalms, Mark, and Romans. These books are formatted to ease the reading of the Bible. They include increasing the line spacing, using a larger type-face, and changing the paper-type to make it easier to read.
They also include illustrations by Annie Vallotton.
