J. D. Douglas, PhD, served as editor of several major reference works, including the New Bible Dictionary, The International Dictionary of the Christian Church, and the Expositor's Bible Commentary series. He also wrote many articles for religious magazines and scholarly works. In his final years he taught theology and church history at Singapore Bible College.

Jonathan W. Bryant, PhD, is senior editor of Bibles and Bible reference works at Tyndale House Publishers. He lives in Wheaton, Illinois, with his wife, Sharon, and kids.
