Spirituality in Season

We are used to making Lent a special time for spiritual renewal, and there is an immense amount of material available to help us, but much less has been written on the other seasons of the year which can also be a vital way of aligning the whole of our lives, with our varied experiences and moods, with the life of Christ in its many aspects.

This resource explores the traditions that have shaped each season, the lectionary readings, and the liturgies observed across the ecumenical spectrum. It aims to unlock the great potential of the seasons, both for those who plan and lead worship, and for those who use it as a resource for their own and others’ spiritual growth. It draws out the distinctive spiritual ‘mood’ of each season and relates it to stages or phases of our own human journey.
