At first glance, this book might seem a sexist Conservative American work that makes generalisations about gender difference. The reality is somewhat different.

While ‘The Truth about Guys’ shouldn’t be taken as the be-all-and-end-all approach to teen relationships, this thoughtful account gives insight into some differences in perception and approach taken by young men and women.

Occasionally accused of ‘telling women how they should act’, I believe this book seeks to give advice and insight, rather than instruction. Taken in this way, teenage girls are likely to find it helpful and informative.
