He also taught theology part time at the University of Scranton and the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome.
Ordained a priest for the Diocese of Scranton in 1971, he received an STL in dogmatic theology from the Gregorian University and a doctorate in moral theology, summa cumlaude, in 1977 from the Academia Alfonsiana, Rome, Italy. Previous publications include Evangelization in America and Catholic Moral Tradition.
