    Product Description

Brendan's pictures of Bible scenes - constructed out of imagination and Lego, will make adults smile and even give some insight on the Bible passages he illustrates. Be warned though, because some of his interpretations are a bit direct - though never distasteful or disrespectful, this is probably not a book for children. A quirky and interesting gift for adults with a love of Lego, a sense of humour and even the slightest Bible knowledge or interest, this book will at least make them read the printed Bible text.

The Bible text Brendan uses is his own 'translation', but my reading suggests that he's just adapted the more traditional and recognisable texts poached from the modernised KJV derivatives and made them into snappy captions for his Lego creations. I think this whole picture and words idea is the kind of thing that would work well in an environment where the Bible is considered old fashioned and irrelevant - people are more likely to read the words if they think it'll give them a laugh... actually it'll give them a lot to think about - which is what you want.

The Brick Bible, as well as making an unusual but scripturally sound gift, would make a surprising and effective outreach as an addition to the libraries of institutions such as prisons... and waiting rooms - which are kind of institution in themselves. A copy in your church library, cafe or drop-in centre wouldn't go amiss either. In fact anywhere you put it, it's bound to spark interest, conversation and questions. Bring on the Meccano Bible!- Les Ellison

From the author of the highly praised and somewhat controversial "The Brick Bible: A New Spin on the Old Testament" comes the much-anticipated New Testament edition. For over a decade, Brendan Powell Smith, creator of popular website bricktestament.com, has been hard at work using LEGO[registered] to re-create scenes from the Bible.

Now, in one volume, he has brought together over 1,000 "brick" photographs depicting the narrative story of the New Testament. From the life of Jesus - his birth, teachings, and parables - to the famous last supper scene and the crucifixion; from the fate of Judas to the life of Paul and his letters to the Ephesians; from the first book burning to the book of Revelations, this is the New Testament as you've never experienced it before.

Smith combines the actual text of the New Testament with his brick photographs to bring to life the teachings, miracles, and prophecies of the most popular book in the world. The graphic novel format makes these well-known Bible stories come to life in a fun and engaging way. And the beauty of "The Brick Bible: The New Testament" is that everyone, from the devout to nonbelievers, will find something breathtaking, fascinating, or entertaining within this impressive collection.* Please note this title is not from a Christian publisher.
