One Yellow Door is a memoir which deals honestly with the complex ethics of infidelity in marriage where one partner is severely disabled, and simultaneously an exploration of Christian faith through the darkness of limited theology to a deeper and more mature awareness of God.

De Saintonge writes for the general reader with the memoir split into parts - the first, an introductory narrative; the second, a journal which begins at the moment of her husband's diagnosis with Dementia with Lewys bodies (a form of Parkinson's disease) that documents her emotional turmoil; the third, an epilogue of de Saintonge's spiritual journey over time.
