3 new collections of Lent, Holy Week and Easter meditations from Nick Fawcett give you 240 first-person accounts of Jesus’ life, crucifixion, death and resurrection helping you lead group studies, church services and school assemblies into the meaning and relevance of Lent.
Nick Fawcett’s 2012 Lent, Easter an Holy Week resources give you three well presented collections of themed, engaging and culturally relevant meditations to support the spiritual growth and enrichment of your group, church or school, and everyone taking part.
Nick Fawcett, writer of more than 100 worship resource books and devotional studies, collects and revises the best of Lent, Holy Week and Easter meditations into 3 new collections suited to small group study, or school and church worship.
Each new collection contains 70 - 100 meditations based around the personalities of the Bible, Gospels and Passion narrative. Every meditation consists of the complete, relevant Bible text, a first person monologue and a short, direct prayer that springs straight from the narrative.
All 3 books contain original and revised material from Nick Fawcett’s popular and successful previous titles including ‘No Ordinary Man 1 and 2’ and ‘A Most Amazing Man 1,2 and 3’. Collecting 240 Lent and Easter studies into these 3 books provides a concise, comprehensive and practical worship resource:
In each title, Nick gets into the mind and motivation of named and anonymous players in the drama of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. The disciple Peter, the woman caught in adultery, Nicodemus, some of the Old Testament prophets and even the devil are just some of the characters who have their say.
Each meditation makes entertaining and enlightening reading and, with very little effort, excellent monologues for performance to school or church. The collection offers a creative resource for you, as a teacher or church leader, to widen the inclusiveness of assemblies and corporate worship.
Performed or read as monologues, school drama departments and individuals can present Nick Fawcett’s interpretations as engaging first hand accounts of the Bible events. His simple, short prayers link the imaginative meditations into personal, real life applications of the Bible for today.
The three collections together form a complete series covering Jesus’ Life and work in ‘Light Shines’, followed by his passion and death in ‘Light in the Darkness’ and finally his resurrection, ascension and Pentecost in ‘Light of Life’.
In large format books and clear print, the books are both attractive and practical. Easy to hold and easy to read on a desk or lectern the three collections are practical resources for public reading and worship. Making them even more usable, each 'Light' collection includes an alphabetic index to the key themes, personalities and Bible references.
The meditations of ‘Light Shines’ are collected together under the themed headings:Testing and Temptation
The meditations of ‘Light in the Darkness’ are collected together under the themed headings:Palm Sunday
The meditations of ‘Light of Life’ are collected together under the themed headings:
