Best known for his bookThe Cross and the Switchblade, David Wilkerson was a promi nent evangelist in the city of New York. His street ministry focused on reaching the gangs and youth of the 1950s and 60s. As well as leading youth crusades, David Wilkerson was known for his serious and robust sermons. Sermons such as "A Call to Anguish" take seriously the teaching and lifestyle of Jesus. 

Widely regarded as a bold man of faith, Wilkerson passed away in 2011.
