Do you love creating space where children and families can encounter Jesus? Are you someone who enjoys shaping ministry thoughtfully, prayerfully and with imagination? If you’re energised by reaching families beyond the walls of the church, building relationships in the community, and developing new ways for children to grow in faith, this role offers an exciting opportunity. We’re seeking a Children & Families Pastor to build on what God has already begun here - and to help shape what comes next. You’ll lead our Sunday group, nurture our midweek ministries, deepen our partnerships with local schools, and create welcoming spaces where children and families can grow in faith. Alongside this, you’ll have genuine room to develop new initiatives, explore fresh ideas, and help us imagine and establish the next chapter of our ministry. If you’re someone who enjoys building, shaping and dreaming with others, this role gives you the space to do exactly that. About Holy Trinity Holy Trinity is an evangelical Anglican, word and Spirit church with a simple but bold vision: To be a deep well of God’s healing for Southwell and beyond. Southwell is a vibrant market town with a strong sense of community, a significant number of children and families, and four local schools with whom we have excellent relationships. There is real opportunity here to build long term, relational ministry and to help shape a genuinely multigenerational church. We are entering a refreshed season with a growing staff team, including a Youth Outreach Pastor and a Parish Administrator & Communications Lead. Our hope is to become an increasingly multigenerational church where children and families are welcomed, discipled and fully part of our worshipping life. Key areas of ministry • Sundays & worship: Lead our preschool group and develop new groups for older children. Shape our 10:30am service so it increasingly welcomes and engages families. Contribute to all age worship and encourage children’s participation. • Midweek groups & outreach: Oversee our thriving toddler group and Kids & Families Funtime. Build new midweek ministries as the church grows. Offer pastoral support and help families take next steps in faith. • Schools ministry: Strengthen partnerships with local schools, deliver collective worship and seasonal services, and build natural bridges into church life. • Prayer & discipleship: Cultivate a culture of prayer among children and families. Lead and attend our weekly children & youth prayer meeting. • Volunteer leadership & organisation: Recruit, train and support volunteers. Ensure excellent safeguarding practice. Keep children’s spaces safe, welcoming and well resourced. • Pioneering: Pray, imagine and develop new initiatives — older primary groups, exploring faith courses, holiday clubs, Christmas outreach, or even a new all age service. Who we’re looking for Essential: • A vibrant, mature Christian faith that inspires children and families • Passion for evangelism and discipleship among children and parents • Experience working with children and families in a church or community setting • Creative, energetic, proactive and able to take initiative • Strong communication skills with children and adults • Ability to lead, train and encourage volunteers • Understanding of safeguarding and willingness to grow in expertise • Able to work flexibly, including Sundays and some evenings • In sympathy with the aims, values and worshipping life of Holy Trinity and the Church of England Desirable: • Relevant qualification in theology, children’s ministry or education • Experience using ChurchSuite or similar systems • Experience developing new ministries or pioneering outreach • Ability to lead worship or contribute musically • Experience using Canva or similar creative comms tools Terms • Hours: Full time (37.5) or part time by negotiation • Salary: £28,000–£30,000 depending on experience • Pension: 8% employer contribution • Holiday: 25 days + 5 concessionary days + bank holidays • Line manager: Vicar • DBS: Enhanced DBS required • Probation: 4 months Closing date: 13th September Interview date: late September (exact date TBC) This post has been made possible by generous funding from the National Church of England.
