Our jobs

Stour Church is rooted in the heart of Stourbridge... not in a single building, but on the streets, out in the local community, and wherever people are. Inspired by the radical life and teachings of Jesus, we’re here to show up, stand alongside, and serve those most often overlooked.

We believe church isn’t just a place you go, it’s a way of life. We’re not your typical church. We’re a church, reimagined, and different. We’re on a mission to serve Stourbridge with love that’s practical, personal, and powerful. You’ll see us making sandwiches, stocking shelves, listening, chatting, praying… doing whatever it takes to show God’s love in action.

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in your community? Do you have skills, experience, or simply a heart to serve? Stour Church is looking for committed and thoughtful individuals to join us as a Board Member.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of a growing, community-focused church, ensuring strong governance, clear direction, and a lasting impact in the community. As a Board Member, you will play a key role in the strategic oversight of our church. You will work collaboratively with other Board Members and our church leaders to ensure the church is well-governed, sustainable, and in line with its mission and values.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic guidance and oversight
  • Supporting the church’s vision, mission, and long-term planning
  • Ensuring good governance and accountability
  • Contributing to key decisions on finance, operations, and growth
  • Contributing to regular written reports (such as the AGM and annual report)
  • Acting as an ambassador for Stour Church in the wider community

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in leadership, governance, or decision-making roles
  • Skills in areas such as finance, law, HR, marketing, or community engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A collaborative and thoughtful approach
  • A commitment to the values and mission of Stour Church

This is a voluntary position, but one with significant opportunity to contribute to meaningful, lasting impact in the local community. The role can be flexible around your current commitments, but regular board meetings (quarterly) and occasional ad-hoc support availability would be ideal.
