About the role

The Youth Ministry Support Worker exists to help deliver a fun, engaging, safe, and spiritually powerful Sunday youth programme. Working closely with the Youth Pastor, this role ensures excellence, continuity, and strong relational presence for young people, enabling them to encounter God and discover who they truly are.

As part of this, the Youth Ministry Support Worker will support the Youth Pastor in leading sessions approximately twice a month and will take primary responsibility for leading youth sessions approximately twice a month when the Youth Pastor is fulfilling worship leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilitiesFull responsibilities are in the job outline, key responsibilities include:

Assist in preparing and delivering Sunday youth sessions.

Help set up and create engaging environments for games, teaching, prayer, and small groups.

Lead or co-lead activities, discussions, or prayer moments as needed.

Build positive, appropriate relationships with young people.

Create a welcoming, high-energy, and inclusive atmosphere.

Support young people as they explore faith and build community.

Uphold safeguarding policies and best practice at all times.

Support volunteer coordination where required.

Able to create an environment where young people feel valued, seen, and encouraged.

Willing to prioritise wellbeing and safety – in terms of following child safeguarding, pastoral, health and safety and confidentiality procedures.
