Our jobs

We are looking for a mature Christian to join our community. This will involve both spiritual activities at the centre alongside a practical Housekeeping role, reporting to the Cottages Manager.

Spiritual Roles: Given our ethos as a Christian community, applicants are required to be Christians and have a heart for the healing ministry. Participation in our Christian community and performance of religious devotional duties is an essential aspect of this role and include daily team prayer and worship meetings. You will also have opportunities to grow in your Christian faith through regular attendance on teaching courses through our Two-Year Discipleship Programme for your own personal development and to receive prayer ministry.

Other opportunities may include welcoming and/or hosting guests to the centre; training in prayer ministry and opportunities to share short devotional messages with the team and/or guests on events; opportunities for teaching and/or group leading during events with guests.

Practical Roles: We are looking for a Cottages Housekeeper to ensure our holiday cottages are kept clean, well maintained and welcoming for guests.

The ideal applicant will be able to plan and manage all aspects of the regular cottages cleaning routines and supervise others in doing of the same. They must also be able to manage cleaning supplies, laundry, linens and the cottage inventory. The role also requires basic computer literacy and the ability to work with booking engine systems such as the cottages website, Booking.com and SuperControl.

Good interpersonal skills are essential as you will be in daily contact with the guests and team who come from a range of backgrounds, cultures and countries. You will also need to be able to maintain a positive can do attitude for our guests and be able to speak English fluently. A sense of humour also helps as does an eye for the small details, diligence and flexibility. The ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise tasks according to urgency are essential along with dealing with guests would also be useful.

The role requires 40 hours per week, working 5 days over the week, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis and we are looking for an appropriate level of fitness due to the physical aspects of the role.

The role is a full-time, live-in position and will be on a fixed term for two years as part of our Service and Discipleship programme. It comes with full board accommodation (private bedroom and shared kitchen, bathroom and living areas) along with an appropriate allowance to cover personal expenses.

Some evening, and weekend and bank holiday working will be required on a rota basis.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a current right to work in the UK. Please be aware that we may need to withdraw this vacancy from the website earlier than the planned closing date in the event of an ideal candidate being identified early on in the recruitment process.

We would love to hear from you if you would like to know more about serving with us.
