Objective Seek to understand God’s vision for the church and effectively communicate this vision to the Church Council and the congregation. The pastor will lead and direct the preaching/teaching ministry, ensuring that a biblically based, message of significance is delivered with passion and excellence. Work with elders and ministry leads in planning and execution of weekly services and other programs. Act as leader and shepherd under the supervision of the church council. Purpose • To be a visionary and passionate leader - someone who sees the bigger picture • Vision and strategic thinking for the intentional direction of the Church in our Mission and Ministry • Provide ministry to all members (young and old alike) that builds up and develops the growth, stability, unity, and maturity of the church • Develop a vision for yearly increase of the church, communicate it effectively and lead the members in the working towards its achievement Main Duties and responsibilities Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-3, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 highlights shepherding includes four main responsibilities: leading the flock, feeding the flock, protecting the flock and caring for the flock. Pastors, Christ has called you to devote yourselves to the care of souls, ministering in the Word in all your duties. Your job responsibilities are weighty and worthy of the utmost diligence. On that final day, when the Christ the Chief Shepherd evaluates your work, what will He say? By God’s grace, may He commend your faithful labour and say “Well done, good and faithful servant” – Matthew 25:21. • To provide the overall spiritual leadership, vision, teaching and pastoral care to the Church in all aspects of its life, mission and witness • To have overall responsibility for the functioning of the members, specifically the preaching, teaching and training programme for the church • Ministry: o Overall responsibility for preaching scheme and planning series that includes rostering including teachers, preachers etc. o Working with others to co-ordinate leaders and content for services • To be a leader: the Pastor is seen as a leader amongst leaders and to preside as Chair from time to time of Eldership and a member of Trustees’ board • Discipleship: to Lead, encourage and equip the members to grow and mature in their Christian faith, life and service o Providing guidance of doctrinal matters o Develop and connect people into small groups i.e. home groups to grow in Christ-likeness, Spirit-filled, and maturity o The joy and love for each other will attract others to Jesus Christ • To Chair or rotate as chair or attend meetings of various leadership and ministry groups • Strategic Enabler: The ability to build up and expand the work of the church and craft the necessary leadership structures for the growth and effectiveness of its ministry. • High Emotional Quotient: Approachable and effective, working with others with great love, maturity, humbleness, and transparency, including the giftedness needed to draw people beyond their spiritual comfort zone and an awareness of and ability to engage with different cultures • To provide pastoral care and ministry for the members of the church and wider community appropriate to their needs • Encourage, equip and enable Ministry Leaders and Volunteers to fulfil the Church vision and their purpose in Christ • Introduce and develop new opportunities for Evangelism i.e. Alpha Course or similar • To facilitate engagement with other church leaders within AoG, and contribute to Churches Together Luton, agencies and community groups as required • To be a team builder: The Pastor is the senior staff member and oversees the Church staff where applicable and volunteers in their ministry or gifting including providing Pastoral care • Possesses a spirit of cooperation and fellowship within the church body. Shows self-awareness and humility in seeking advice from others when appropriate. • Be a representative of LPC at wider church forums such as local Pastors/Ministers meetings • To provide support, encouragement and contribution to events held by other churches for the promotion of the mission of Jesus Christ • A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced in daily life and exhibiting character qualities outlined in1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 • The Pastor will be expected to take the lead for the various responsibilities set out below, but will share responsibilities with others/Elders as appropriate in the leadership

Newcastle Baptist Church (Staffordshire) is a welcoming, Bible-based church seeking a culturally-sensitive minister with strong preaching skills and a pastoral heart, to lead our 200-strong fellowship into the next stage of church life and witness. Our ideal minister will have good communication skills, organisational abilities, a sense of humour and the confidence to actively encourage others to play their part. He or she will help us to grow as followers of Jesus, strengthen our cross-cultural friendships and help us build our links with the many local people who use our premises each week as well as those we meet at work and play. You will join a committed ministry team comprising a full-time Ministry Assistant who leads our thriving youth and children’s work, a part-time Children’s Worker and a part-time Pastoral Worker. The post is full-time. We offer a salary in the range of £39,444 to £47,332 and we contribute towards the Baptist Pension scheme. A non-BU accredited minister will be asked to complete approved training which can be undertaken alongside ministry. There is an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a committed Christian under the Equality Act 2010. Stockethill Church of Scotland, Aberdeen, are seeking a Congregation Leader for their emerging Family Church congregation. The successful candidate will do the work of a pastor-teacher, evangelist and leader within the context of a small church plant aimed primarily at young families in a diverse neighbourhood. They will have the opportunity to build on successful ministry and to be creative in their approach to discipling adults and children with little or no church back ground whilst forming a church community. As part of the wider Stockethill Church family, they will work with committed volunteers and a supportive church leadership. This is a three-year full-time post (with the possibility of extending) with a starting salary of £32,251 p/a, funded by the Church of Scotland’s Seeds for Growth Fund and the Presbytery of the North East and Northern Isles.
