…sympathetically portrayed according to Biblical writings. Inspirational, heart warming. The recent “in cinema only” production leading up to the arrest of Jesus, I was disappointed. It had lost the intimacy of the previous episodes. Jesus suddenly acquired a beard. The acting was in danger of becoming stilted, almost as though the actors were feeling the pressure of the cinema screen the having to compete with movies and films of all genres. No competition at all. The Chosen is unique in its conception. The Actors can be as ever before, the story of Jesus, his student follower disciples, the day to day faith journey becomes dramatic in its telling, no “Hollywood styling” required. The day to day intimacy of life, the seriousness of eventual profound events is powerful in itself, no embellishments required.
