'The Chosen' Season 5 follows the events of Holy Week from the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday right up to the kiss of betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane. As in previous seasons, Season 5 helps the viewer to feel that they are right there in Judea in the first century, and to appreciate the likely emotions and thoughts of the disciples as the story unfolds. In my opinion, the characterizations and fictionalized dialogue add considerably to the limited summaries of "what Jesus said and did" in the four Gospels, giving the viewer a much better idea of what it must really have been like during the earthly ministry of Jesus. One high point for me is an excellent portrayal of Jesus "cleansing the leaven" from the Court of the Gentiles in His Father's House, when He turned over the tables of the money-lenders and berated the other rip-off merchants. A reasonable knowledge of Scripture is helpful, for example in a scene when Jesus is imagined to encounter Ezekiel in the spirit. The rationale behind Judas Iscariot's decision to betray Jesus comes across well, and the probable logic and priorities of both the religious Jews and the Romans are very plausible. The final scene of Season 5 in the Garden of Gethsemane builds up the tension well, culminating with the traitor's kiss and leaving the viewer hanging on for Season 6.

Wonderful presentation of our Lords supper , a great watch especially if you have been following the series.

This series is very impactful, helps me see the reality of Jesus as my saviour.

Delighted to receive the DVD of The Chosen Season 5. I have all of them so far and watch them over again and, like reading The Bible, I see something different each time. Having it in the form of DVD'S means I have a permanent record which I can watch them whenever I like.

Excellent DVD

Having seen all the previous dvd’s of this excellent production I can’t speak highly enough of it. It tells the story of Jesus’s ministry and the lives of the disciples following him. Artistic licence has been used whilst still maintaining the core bible passages and meaning of Christianity. It has helped me to have a better understanding of some of the written passages in the Bible. The acting is superb and it has deepened my faith. I would recommend these dvd’s to anyone searching and wanting to understand and learn more about the Bible and Christianity.
