"The Blickling Homilies" are a collection of Anglo Saxon documents of quite exceptional scholarly importance. Previously, the homilies were published by Continuum in a handsome volume containing the full texts, translation on opposite pages and an introduction for the general reader as to their importance. The documents are now in the library of Princeton University in the USA. Now, Professor Kelly has compiled a detailed concordance to the Homilies which is not only a key to understanding the originals but is also a unique view of the Old English of the time, in all its variations and complexities. It is also a guide to its various dialects. This is a work of incomparable scholarship which yet again confirms Richard Kelly as one of our leading Anglo Saxon scholars.
