The Coming of God Few subjects are more basic than the one chosen for this book. The coming of God to save his people is at the heart of Old Testament faith. The theme develops further when Jesus announces the Kingdom of God and attention is focused on his death and resurrection. What Jesus says about himself in relation to this Kingdom throws light also on the mystery expressed in John 10:30: 'I and my Father are one.' The author's gift as preacher and teacher here combine to make a broad appeal to nonspecialist readers who want to understand their faith better. Its depth and solidity are the fruit of a lifetime devoted to biblical scholarship. G. R. Beasley-Murray (1916 - 2000) was Principal of Spurgeon's College and he taught New Testament at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Ruschlikon, Switzerland. Later he was Professor of New Testament at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. This book contains four lectures given in Nigeria during 1981 in memory of Emanuel Ajahi Dahunsi, a Nigerian pastor.
