Volatile relationships, mental health battles, the endless and fruitless pursuit of satisfaction. These are all manifestations of our desperate need for healing. Even our sin often represents our best efforts at coping with our broken world and battered hearts. We believe Jesus came to save--but didn't he also come to heal?

With compassion and sensitivity, pastor Ike Miller urges us to broaden our understanding of the gospel to encompass more than simply a legal transaction in which Jesus takes the punishment for our sin. Rather, as we come to understand the overarching story of the Bible as God's pursuit to heal and restore all of creation, we are freed to truly embrace Jesus as the Great Physician--the one who understands our pain and whose whole existence is bent on bringing complete restoration to our souls.
