This is the fourth book in the series, Witnesses to an Execution. It is about the judge who presided over the civil trial of Jesus Christ, a trial that resulted in His execution.

The judge is Pontius Pilate, governor of Judea, Israel. He declared the defendant that appeared before him that Friday morning, innocent, at least three times, but despite those declarations, by three o'clock that same day, the defendant was dead on a Roman gallows.
