Someday we will all encounter God face-to-face. Five men - Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, and Paul - had personal encounters with Him recorded in Scripture. Whether in a valley, on a mountain, or by the road, God came and revealed Himself supernaturally to them. In the process, these men learned about the nature of God. They gained knowledge about God. This knowledge was foundational to their effectiveness in serving His purpose and living for His glory. God Encountered is about the character of God. It is about the knowledge of God that men gained when they met God in the pages of the Bible and how that same knowledge is vital for us as we live day to day as followers of Christ. It is a challenge for us to study the Bible, not just as a collection of stories to give us moral direction, but as the revelation of God Himself - the One True God who deserves our praise.
