This book is about my life long search to understand what is important in life and just what kind of person I want to be. I have come to the conclusion that both the source of our troubles and of our happiness lies primarily in our own thoughts and beliefs and the choices that we make based on same. Although I think it importantfor each of us individually to wrestle with our values, it is even more important that we as a race come to a commmon agreement. Humanity is well past the point of where we must take some kind of action to fend off a coming disaster of monumental consequences. We collectively as a race must decide on what our role is in ensuring the sustainability of life on this celestial globe. I realize that it is daunting task to think that we humans could ever come to an agreement on anything and in particular as to what kind of people we should be and what actions we should take. In this book I have proposed a modest beginning. It will be up to others to decide if this is helpful or if there is some other approach or if anyone even wants to take on this task.
In the end what kind of people do we want to be? What are the attributes of us individually and societally that will yield the best results for all life on earth?
