At home with both economic theory and political philosophy, John Roemer has written a book that critiques economists' conceptions of justice from a philosophical perspective and philosophical theories of distributive justice from an economic one. Among other topics, Roemer discusses the Arrow Impossibility Theorem, axiomatic bargaining theory, utilitarianism, egalitariansim, and neo-Lockeanism, and takes on the work of such major thinkers as Rawls, Sen, Nozick and Dworkin.
