While it's obvious that living in a given society is inherent to human beings, it's also clear that striving for a better and happier life has always been a priority, even a vital concern, throughout the history of political philosophy from Antiquity to the present day. In fact, no form of society is free of politics. Hence, any political community would have as its vocation the security of its members. Our times show that people are eager to find a model of government that suits them. The democratic form of government is proclaimed and even demanded by many states around the world, but it is neither the best nor the most unambiguous form of government, nor is it free from criticism.
