I want to thank all those human entities who have lapse in judgement. You know, the human entities that never sit down and add the pro's and con's of topics before they make a stance, open their mouth and ramble, or mistakenly join a cause.
This writing is for you. You gave me the topics of discussion. Without your assistance this work would not be possible. Some human entities have the sense god gave a horse and some do not. I can only guess that is why the term "horse sense" traveled from the sparsely populated prairies to the densely populated cities.
The premise of this writing is simple. I don't know if I am similar to other human entities, or if I am one of a kind? Each day I see or hear about things that make little to no sense or no sense at all to me. Maybe I think a little too deep sometimes, about certain topics? Maybe I expect more from human elements than I typically get? This is a culmination of some such topics. This isn't really an opinion piece this is more questioning than anything else. Well, I am sure opinions will abound. Maybe I am the one missing something? Maybe not? I like to make people think. I like to make students think. I am not looking for followers that want to jump on my wagon. My wagon probably has a few broken wheels anyway.
Discussing topics these days are like talking to Archie Bunker. He knew what he knew and that was it. It was difficult to get him to sway his opinion. Even with a topic you thought you could surely win; he still defied all logic and common sense. Common sense, now that is a stretch word. Sense isn't so common nor is it prevalent. That is the reason for this writing. Common sense is something we take for granted and so is plain old horse-sense.
Why do we bother to think in the first place? We use high sounding terms like creative and critical thinking. When we think of a lot of the things in life that cause us to ponder can we actually say that someone put much thought into those in the first place? Really? Or did they just throw something out there in the spur of the moment? They just filled a gap within an instant. They needed an answer fast and that is what they did. They came up with one and the population never questioned it. Never gave it a second thought. Here we are.
Comedians, pop into my head when I think about some of the things I have seen and heard throughout my years that made no sense. Gallagher and George Carlin make a lot of sense calling attention to things like these. I am not going to steal their fire or thunder, as I have come into contact with a lot of things throughout my 60 years that stand out as, well, "whose bright idea was that"?
