The US Latinx community is undergoing profound changes. For many, Spanish is no longer their primary language, the US is the country where they were born, and they are shifting their religious affiliations. Still, institutions of theological education often lack the resources to understand these trends and the significance of these shifts for how theological education functions. In response, the four-volume series Theological Education ¡Latinamente! reimagines the Latinx community and its relationship to theological education.

María Pilar Aquino and Gregory Cuéllar curate the series' inaugural volume, Reimagining Latinidad, to provide the theoretical and historical frameworks to critically examine perspectives about the Latinx community and its relationship to theological education. Aquino and Cuéllar compile essays that explore questions of what it looks like to have the Latinx community's scholarly, epistemological, and lived contributions shift how the community approaches education and institutions. Reimagining Latinidad equips institutional leaders in seminaries and divinity schools with concrete frameworks to reexamine the Latinx community and reorient their programmatic and funding priorities.
