Daniel nine has been one of the most, if not the most, difficult and misunderstood chapters in the Bible. Ideas have differed greatly as to when the command was given to allow the Jews to leave Babylon, return to Jerusalem, rebuild the city, the temple, and the walls. Many scenarios have been devised based on verse twenty-five. None seem to be certain when the command was given, some say one year while some say it was another. All agree that the seventy weeks or seventy sevens of verse twenty-four equals four hundred ninety years.
As usual, the difficulty comes when tradition dictates the answer for God's word. The author's study has led him to believe that the seventy weeks does not speak of a future to them. Neither was the command to restore and build Jerusalem a command given by an earthly king.
The author, Jimmy Higgins, has put the pieces of the puzzle together and a congruent picture has developed which places the events and dates in a proper order.
If you have ever wondered about the timing of the last days and last events laid out in the Bible this book will be worth your time and study.
