ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Bob Pearle is a seasoned pastor, theologian, and denominational leader with over four decades of ministry experience. He holds a B.A. in Christian Ministry from Southern Bible College and both the Master of Divinity (1980) and Doctor of Ministry (1992) from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee.

He has served as President of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, as a Trustee of the International Mission Board and LifeWay Christian Resources, and in multiple leadership capacities within Southern Baptist life, including service on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. His leadership has also extended to trustee roles at Truett McConnell University and Hannibal-LaGrange University.

Dr. Pearle is the author of The Vanishing Church: Searching for Significance in the 21st Century (2009) and has served as Pastor of Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, since 1998. He and his wife, Deborah, have shared fifty-three years of marriage and ministry together.
