Product Description
This is the second collection of sermons preached over the last half-century by the author, the Rev. Ernest Williams. A Presbyterian minister, he uses a variety of styles depending on the texts used, but all in plain language which has been called "down to earth" and understandable. The sermons in this book are taken from both the Old Testament, and the New Testament, and all bear witness to the saving power of Jesus Christ and the life of personal discipleship. The presence of Christ in the Old Testament and the unity of the entire Bible are strongly emphasized. The topics are wide-ranging, because Scripture itself touches on so many aspects of human life, society, and nations. The author, educated at Princeton Theological Seminary, uses modern historical and literary methods to discern the meaning of a passage, invariably revealing the historical Christian understanding of the Triune God and the God-man Jesus Christ, crucified, risen, presently ruling over all creations, and to return in glory.
