Blackburn Cathedral ran a series of six composition competitions with the aim of providing new, accessible organ music for major feasts in the church's year. The contents of this album include the winning entries from each competition, along with those that were highly commended. Also included is a work written specifically for the Blackburn organ, which provides an excellent short work for Christmas.
