Upon This Rock was written to support and encourage church leaders and church organizers. It also focuses on realistic and constructive expectations of church members. For far too long, churches have been struggling unnecessarily. I have assisted various church leaders in establishing and maintaining an effective church structure. I have witnessed both success and failure. Some failed because of improper leadership, but the greater challenges were due to a lack of support, information, and awareness of available resources.

This book explains and reinforces the declaration that Jesus made in Matthew 16, "Upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."

Upon This Rock includes many of the difficult tasks that churches are experiencing today. Moreover, this book shows detailed illustrations, examples, and effective methods that have been used to mitigate those adversities. God's word must always remain supreme. Within it, we find the spiritual and literal framework for building and maintaining a solid church. When we combine biblical wisdom with the tried and tested methods of successful church leaders, we facilitate effective mission work and disciple-building. It was and is the called-out people of God who continue to passionately spread the gospel while making disciples. We are the light of the world, a city sitting on a hill for the world to see. That is God's purpose and intent for the church. He wants to show the world His unlimited power and unconditional love through His church. What does the world see when it focuses on you? I believe the implementation of these principles and practices will provide the vision, clarity, direction, and stability necessary to establish the rock-solid foundation Jesus promised when He said, "Upon This Rock, I Will Build My Church."
