The mistreatment and negative portrayal of Black men in media, art, and the news is a saga that began nearly four hundred years ago with slavery and continues to this day. Although African American men have endured systemic racism, discrimination, and generational cycles of poverty, many stand tall in the face of a culture that actively

Martin Luther King Jr.'s Beloved Community was a vision for a world where people apply faith and action to evoke change, exposing Black men to ways they could navigate an optimistic, empowering path forward toward their goals. The Empowerment of African American Males in Martin Luther King, Jr's Beloved Community is a work of inspiration and research that unpacks the results of this vision as it is put in action.
